Fiber ODF with Fiber Management

Fiber ODF with Fiber Management

Optical distribution frame · Integrated cable management

The installation challenge

Fiber density is only useful when the patching stays manageable.

The space around a fiber panel matters as much as the panel itself. Routed entry points, bend control and a defined path between racks can make complex patching work easier to organize.

Without a planned route

Patch cords compete for the same space.

Changes and maintenance become harder to manage when incoming cables, service loops and rack-to-rack connections have no dedicated pathway.

The Fibernet design

Make cable management part of the ODF.

The frame uses vertical fiber management, side-access ducts, an upper cable drop and a lower cross-rack duct to create distinct routes for optical connections.

Fiber routing architecture

A defined path from cable entry to the next rack.

The datasheet describes the fiber route as a system of access points rather than loose cabling around the frame.

Protect the upper cable drop

The top duct separates the drop from rack cabling while keeping a direct pathway.

Manage patch-cord slack vertically

Two-sided vertical management is specified for the standard frame design, with bend-control fixtures and side-entry access.

Connect adjacent distribution frames

A duct at the base enables passage between rack sides or neighboring frames in back-to-back and side-to-side arrangements.

22U exception: one-sided management with Type HD drawers

Technical specifications

Choose the frame that fits your distribution room.

The source document specifies three rack heights, with a special cable-management arrangement for the compact model.

Integration options

Complete the optical distribution architecture.

Select the accessories that match the project topology and patching method. The datasheet lists these options separately from the frame description.

01 / Termination

Splice & patch drawers

Type HD and Type F drawers are listed for the ODF family. The 22U frame is specified for Type HD.

02 / Horizontal pathway

Cable management

Horizontal cable-management elements support the planned patching route.

03 / Frame-to-frame

Bridge connection

An option for projects requiring connections between adjacent frames.

04 / Optical interfaces

Patch cords

Specify the required connector type, length and cable arrangement in the project BOM.

The datasheet identifies accessories but does not confirm which are included with the base frame. Verify the commercial scope with Fibernet.

Ordering reference

Build an indicative ODF model code.

Use the source ordering logic to prepare a precise technical enquiry. The resulting code is a reference, not a confirmed available SKU or purchase order.

Datasheet example: FDF-22B1 = 42U, black RAL 9005, nominal 19-inch width. Note that “22” in this code refers to 2.2 m, not 22U.

Where it fits

Designed for structured fiber distribution work.

The frame is relevant where optical connections need planned access, routing and physical organization.

01

Fiber patching and splicing

Organize fiber terminations and cross-connections within a common ODF structure.

02

Patch-only distribution

Use the frame as a patching point when splicing is not part of the selected installation.

03

Adjacent rack layouts

Plan transfers between side-by-side or back-to-back racks using the bottom duct route.

Fibernet quality management

Fibernet operates according to ISO 9001:2015, ISO 13485:2016, and AS9100D quality management standards. These are company-level standards and should not be interpreted as a separate product certification.
