Fiber ODF 3U Type HD

Fiber ODF 3U Type HD

A front-access fiber optic distribution frame with a sliding tray for structured patching and splicing. Configure the 3U Type HD for up to 144 fiber terminations, with the panel workflow selected to match your installation.

The installation challenge

A fiber panel should be accessible after the rack is populated.

When termination points and splice trays are difficult to reach, routine changes and inspection can become unnecessarily disruptive. The Type HD is arranged so assemblies and splices can be reached from the front panel.

Engineered around front access

The pull-out design supports assembly and operating access without treating the rear of the rack as the primary service area. Side and rear cable entry provide defined routing paths into the frame.

Choose the panel workflow

Three ways to configure the same distribution role.

Specify the Type HD around how optical fiber will be installed and maintained, rather than adapting the workflow to a fixed panel.

CONFIGURATION 01

Patch & Splice

For projects that terminate incoming fibers through splice trays and provide patch connections at the distribution panel.

Field-splicing workflow

CONFIGURATION 02

Patch Only

For installations that need accessible optical cross-connection and patching without a splice workflow in the same panel.

Patching workflow

CONFIGURATION 03

Pre-Terminated

For deployments using a selected cable assembly prepared in advance; indoor HFFR and outdoor cable options are listed in the order matrix.

Pre-terminated workflow

Mechanical & fiber design

Designed for the work inside the ODF.

01

Sliding tray

Access to assemblies from the front during installation and servicing.

02

Bend-aware fiber guidance

Internal routing intended to maintain a large fiber bend radius.

03

Defined cable entries

Large entry openings from the side and rear for incoming fiber cables.

04

Splice & panel components

Splice trays specified for 24 pigtails each; a protective PVC panel is listed.

Technical information

Fiber ODF 3U Type HD specifications.

The parameters below are transcribed from Fibernet’s January 2018 Type HD datasheet. Selectable variations are shown separately from the standard 3U capacity.

Type HD optical distribution frame technical data
Product Fiber ODF – Type HD
3U termination capacity Up to 144 fibers (SC / ST / FC)
Frame heights 3U; optional 1U and 2U configurations
Rack width options 19″, 21″, 23″
Frame depth 340 mm
Front-panel orientation Left-oriented (per datasheet)
Finish Black, RAL 9005
Standards reference GR-449-CORE (conformance stated in datasheet)

Capacity note: The published 144-fiber figure applies to the 3U configuration. Capacity and accessory selection for optional 1U/2U versions should be confirmed with Fibernet.
