STAR400 TAP MODULES

Pre-terminated fiber optic TAP modules that split an optical signal into live and monitoring paths, enabling monitoring access inside high-density STAR400 data center infrastructure.

Network monitoring is most useful when access to traffic is predictable, repeatable and physically integrated into the cabling architecture. STAR400 TAP Modules use optical splitters to create a dedicated monitoring output alongside the live path.

This lets data center teams connect monitoring equipment on demand within the existing STAR400 infrastructure instead of adding a separate external TAP enclosure for each monitored link.

Monitor Live Fiber Passively

Optical splitter technology creates dedicated Live and TAP outputs for monitoring workflows without requiring an active inline network appliance inside the module.

Save Rack Space

Monitoring functionality is integrated into the STAR400 module footprint, reducing the need for a separate monitoring enclosure.

Change Monitored Ports with Less Disruption

The source positions the module for changing monitored ports without disrupting the live network, helping minimize operational downtime.

Factory-Test Fiber Paths

LC fibers and ports are individually tested for insertion loss and return loss, numbered for identification and supported by connector ferrule-geometry testing.

Configuration TAP Location Typical Role
MTP® to 8 LC Rear TAP connection Break out monitored paths to individually accessible LC ports.
MTP® to MTP® Rear TAP connection Maintain multi-fiber MTP® connectivity with rear monitoring access.
MTP® to MTP® Front TAP connection Maintain multi-fiber connectivity with front-side monitoring access.
