STAR 2U ODF

The Fibernet STAR 2U ODF is a pre-terminated, high-density 2U optical distribution frame built as six stacked sliding trays of four STAR modules each – 24 modules in total. In its LC configuration it hosts 144 duplex LC ports (288 fibers), and with 6 x MTP®-MTP® modules it scales up to 1,728 fibers in just two rack units. It is designed for data centers, storage area networks (SAN), communications rooms, and high-density enterprise environments.

Pre-terminated, factory-tested connectivity turns fiber deployment from a splicing project into a plug-and-play task: modular interconnections let data center teams manage moves, adds and changes (MACs) smoothly, while the tool-free design significantly reduces installation time and cost. Each of the six trays pulls out individually, keeping every port and patch cord reachable even in fully populated racks – and the modular MTP®/MPO architecture allows migration from 10G to 40G, 100G and 400G Ethernet by swapping modules, not the chassis.

The optical distribution frame shall be a pre-terminated, high-density, modular 2U enclosure for data center structured cabling. The ODF shall meet the following requirements:

  • Shall provide a 2U form factor compliant with the EIA-310 standard for 19″ racks, panels and associated equipment
  • Shall provide six individually extractable trays hosting up to 24 modules (4 modules per tray)
  • Shall support up to 144 duplex LC ports (288 fibers) using LC-MTP® modules
  • Shall support up to 1,152 fibers in a 4 x MTP®-MTP® module configuration
